there's no way I can fold for $4 on the turn even considering my reverse implied odds.

preflop is fine.

on the flop i would bet slightly more: 2.5-3.0 would be fine since it's 3 way, you're not IP, it's a suited board + you want value from worse aces.

you can't fold to that raise. A reraise is possible here, but you must call.

On the turn you check, not a bad move. I could see a blocker being useful here, but you have to also be prepared to block the turn. As played you are loving that bet. $4 is nothing, and it may indicate a hand you beat. definately call, and then check-call or block the river.
