Not sure what i was feeling. Didn't like the call on the flop obviously but with the Q down on the turn I felt I had the best hand by then. Was check calling the correct play or should i have bet the river? Or maybe even fold?

Pretty standard I think.
Preflop raise is good
Flop bet is good, although there is an argument for checking it back.
Turn bet is good, I bet a little bigger here, pot is ~$3, I bet ~2.25
River check/call is good. I strongly consider a fold to anything much bigger than ~3-5 expecting to see AJ.

In short, biggest mistake I see is bet size on turn. You very likely have the best hand at this time (JQ is a worry of course) and should milk it.
