Villain is 63/18/0.8. Went to SD: 39, Won$ at SD: 37.5 over 150 hands. Just before this hand, i doubled him up when he was short and checked turn and river w a rivered 2p w AJ vs my AQ on a J2T5A board. Was i too agressive here? Where, if at all, can i check or maybe even fold?

Think it is played correctly...
if he hit his trips on the river --- Bad Luck
otherwise there are only strange combos which can beat u.
If he had KT he probably would have raised the turn, expecting you to reraise all in

I think I'd bet only about half pot at the turn here.
River action is just very read-based. This guy looks like he'll check through a checked river unless he has a monster, but I'd want a read he'll call down any pair/TP before I bet the river. In that case it's probably OK to put him all-in there.

Looks fine. My guess is that he called you down with KJ or the like...

Ok, you all seem to agree with my play here. I ran into KK, and somehow, i don't know why, but i feel like i could have played this better. So let me ask: how can i pot-control here, and force him to tell me something about his hand, or be able to lay this down? Is there a way of getting away from TPTK OOP, or is this outcome inevitable? Can i really c/f the river maybe?

perfect, this guy is a fish, TPTK is the nuts against this guy on this board

Ramana, I don't think you were really deep stacked enough to get away from this...especially with his stats. If he pushed either preflop or flop, you'd probably have to call anyway. I still wouldn't have changed your play.

I have to also agree well played - check/call on the river I may also do but betting is probably better vs this villan in case he checks behind.

When villans just call and don;t it makes handreading a tad difficult, given his stack size and tendencies and the board I don't think there's much you can do. But calling villans also don't get any info about our hand/protect theirs here we could have had AQ for the flush draw and outdrawn his top set and taken his stack as he didn't raise the flop.

Normally most villans 3bet KK preflop for value and protection - if u had say 55 and flop was jack high you would have stacked him because he failed to protect his hand preflop.

I havent read the other posts, but it looks standard apart from maybe checking the river , having said that if he pushes with his $3.48 (half pot) how are you folding?
