No decent reads on him. Should I have played this river in an other way?

I prolly bet around $8 on river and fold to a shove, by checking it allows villian to take the pot away from us if he doesn't have a ten and we miss value when he checks behind. As played, its prolly a fold 9-10 or 10-J seem most likely

He played the hand a lot like a SC. JT, 9T are well within his range. I might try to block on the river with $6 or something. There is still a chance he has a 2pair so I like to see a SD. But I won't call a PSB or a push with my hand.

I don't like blocking bets the reason if opponent value raises the blocking bet you are forced to call because the odds you get. For example I had betted $6-8 and he had min-raised to $12-16 I had have to called and ended up putting more money into pot if have just c/c his psb, thoughts?

If he minraises, you could actually have to call. OTOH you still pay less or just slightly more than you would have if you had check/called. If he raises you alot, you usually have to fold. That's the reason for a blocking bet: you don't want to pay anymore, so don't do it. And that's a reason to use blocking bets only rarely or bet your legitimate hands the same way from time to time: when people pick up this tendency of yours, they'll raise you off your mediocre hands all the time. But I don't think that players on the micro limits pay enough attention to realize this in your betting patterns.
