No, your raise was fine. Checking the turn induces bluffs from players who understand what a c-bet is pretty often, and the third heart hitting the board makes some opponents even more likely to try a bluff since you have shown weakness. Raising for value is the way to go in this situation, but I would fold if reraised on the river.
