hi
i am fairly new to posting in this forum but have been playing poker for 1 and a half year now. additionally i read some books about fixed limit and started with no limit 2 months ago.
yesterday i went up in limits from nl 25 to nl 50. ok lets talk about my hand:
i had j8o in the big blind
flop: 8jj 2 flush for hearts
small blind bets 2 - ich call , 4 other players fold
turn: q hearts
he bets 4 - i raise to 7. he calls
river comes the 9
he bets 6 and i raise to 20 what got me a respond with 60 allin by him.
as i thought he can have straight and flush, too, i called.
my question is:
should i have folded or not ? or have the hand played different in any way? i could have just called the river.
my knowledge about nl comes from No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice
No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice von David Sklansky and pokerstrategy.com.
about some hints how to improve nl play would be nice.
i hope didnt violate to many rules about posting and thanks for your answers.
regards
