Villain on CO about 15
All limp, Hero raises to 1.4, UTG and CO call
Pot about $4.5. Flop K57r.
Hero checks, UTG minbets, CO calls, Hero calls.
Pot $5. Turn 4r.
Hero bets $3, UTG folds, CO calls.
Pot $11. Turn 6.
Hero ???
Villain has like $10 behind.

Not really a bad river, I mean he COULD have an 8 or 3 but it is not especially likely. Two pair is though. I'd bet more on turn and shove river.

Reason for $3 bet is I pretty much wanted 88-jj to come along.

Yeah, it is not a big deal really. Just makes it easier to get it in on the river. FWIW I would never ever in a million years consider c/f or even c/c. And it is not just because "omg u have a set dont fold", but I dont think villain shows you a straight all that often. If he did, bbv.

I missed one hand in his range that perhaps made sence to be played this way. If it were just a straight, I wouldnt mind - his mistake. Do you see such a hand or I am just overthinking the situation?

Yeah that is possible.
But so is 45/56/67/Kx/99/TT/JJ/...
Sooo many hands you beat, and so few that beats you (that seem likely).
Edit: or are you worried about an overset? I think the odds of that is like 1/100.
