View Full Version : Is this an easy river fold?

Villain running around 36/3/2 over 100 hands. Hasn't gotten too out of line.

Is this an easy river fold? He could have 2 pair. He might be bluffing a missed flush draw. He also could have A9h and we'd chop. How often do we see Q9 here? I suppose I could have played it a lot faster flopping the nuts with a 2-flush.

Any/all advice requested, and then I will post results.

Converter messed up, i pressume he raised river...
Im sure alot of people would advocate a raise PF with the SB limping, we've got position on him the rest of the hand.

With a river re raise, call something reasonable ~6-9, anything more than that we can dump it

Well before you ask if it's a fold, you should show all of the river action. But...you're afraid of one hand? If he has Q9 so be it, you pay him. Get it AI.

First thing, you did not flop nuts the nuts would be 9J, a better straight then yours.

I think the hand was played fine, except personally i'd bet the pot on the turn which is $1.50.

call any reasonable bet here as op said... fold to a push...

Trivial call on any reasonable raise he made. I assume he pushed AI though.

I would be cursing like hell when he did this. If he is a thinking player even at all, I can't imagine he would push with anything less than a str8 and thus you probably tie at best.

He would have to fear you had a str8 since all it takes is a single 9. In fact, even if he had two pair he probably wouldn't check/raise river. Maybe straight value bet, but on such a scary board, check raising doesn't seem likely.

I think you can fold to an AI at this point.

For some reason I thought this was 10NL.

Yeah i'd probably pot the turn, make a value bet on river, and likely fold to a shove.

Oops my bad - I cut off the villain reraise AI of $16 on the river. Hence the question. Sorry!
