First one seems good, but the second one is spewage, if he was drawing, he hit his flush, if he has a king he is probably not folding, and if he had something like 88 he would have probably raised you on the flop.

The first hand is a very good hand to double-barrel. Sometimes you have to 3-barrel here. This because he might call turn with a ten or lower pocket/draw knowing that you will represent overcards. But he cannot know you don't have the king/overpair, so I would 3-barrel if a blank river comes.

I like the first one a lot. The second one is not as good but I don't agree that it's spewage.

It really depends on villains range here and how the table perceives you. (Are you someone who has been seen betting trips on the flop?) Betting the turn ensures that any river donk bets are definitely not bluffs. If you check here it gives you a hard river decision when he bluffs with AQ/AJ/AT.

Anybody think it's better to risk getting bluffed off the hand on the river versus trying to pick up the pot right here? (Well, besides kabouter?)

[/ QUOTE ]Agreed. First one is like 100% to me. At 50's, people seem to float a lot, but not really float like to take away the pot later, just float to see if their A hi or 77 is good and then check down all the way, something you see fairly often on that type of board. The K is a scare card obv.

It's just that without any stats/reads on the villain in hand 2, he either is a donk who calls all the way to the river with middle pair
Or he has a hand that he is not going to 3bet with just to get more value out of it (KQ, maybe even 22), of course he could be floating but that doesn't really make sense (besides he checks the turn)
The only hand you are beating is a pocket pair, that he called just to see if you would bet again on the turn.

But please do tell what happened /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Edit: Jihad was ahead of me /images/graemlins/smile.gif, damn I'm such a slouch from time to time.

Thanks for comments.

Yeah, hand 2 was meant to say "no, I really DO have the K", but looking at it again, it's pretty thin if I'm trying to fold out non-set 66-QQ and/or to charge 6 outers.

Hand 1, villain calls, villain 1/2 pots river, confused hero folds
Hand 2, villain calls, c/c river, villain has K7o obviously
