I think a major flaw in my game is not value betting the river. I know many here preach as a critical tool for extracting value from hands. For instance if i get called down 2 streets, at 5NL i always expect the worst and have a bad habit of checking the river. Anyone have any tip or a way of thinking that could get me to break this habit? I don't know, it's probably just as simple as starting to do it and reaping the rewards to get me on the right track. This hand is a prime example of where i think i played it decent up until the river. I didn't cbet this flop because what am i representing besides an overpair? IME my cbets are snap called alot on flops like this with ATC and if i don't hit the turn i'm in a fix. So, i checked behind on flop, raised villain on turn but after he called that raise i gave up on river... i know, very bad.

You can't cbet this flop because you didn't raise. Also, since you just called, checking behind is fine, no need to turn your hand into a bluff. I bet 1/2 pot on river as it seems he might have a K and will probably call and there's also not much to be afraid of as it seems.

Also be sure to have at least 100x the bb on the table.

P.S. It really doesn't matter if they look your cbets up with ATC because they will miss as often as you.

yea I agree with Vyse, the only hand your scared of on the river given the action is KJ, and hes trying to induce a bluff.
