i didn't have too much of a read on villain, but in the 20+ hands i had on him, he saw the flop 80% of the time. he hardly ever raised postflop, seemed to be very straight forward postflop. considering that, is this a pretty easy fold? or is this too weak?

I think this is a reasonable fold if your read is that villain plays pretty straightforward post-flop. I'm tempted to say "shove" because you said he's playing 80% of his hands, but I think your sample size is just too small.
