Villain is 27/20/6, but I haven't really tangled with him yet. From watching him though he seems very aggressive and tries to push people out of pots if they show serious weakness.

You could, I could see him on a missed flush draw here but I think he bets more looks like a value bet to me I would fold.

meh, i still wouldn't call, its a very thin value call if profitable at all.

also, this doesn't look like he's trying to push you out as it looks like a value bet/ blocking bet type thing.

my guess is he hit that flop with a pair.

I wouldn't call. I think we are beat more often than 2/3 of the time. If he is pushing out with air, fine: you both have big stacks, and you can wait for a better spot to extract money from him when he does it again.

initally this seemed like an instafold, but upon consideration, you are beating every busted draw he could have played this way. If he made a hand (other than a straight) on the flop, he probably would have tried to raise you off your holding. Instead, villain check/called, checked the turn, and then fired a half-pot bet on river. seems consistent with an agressive, OOP opponent who knows he can only win by forcing a fold. Tough decision, but getting 3 to 1, I make a crying call.

fingers, we only have to win 1/4 of the time here to make calling correct. i think he either has an eight or a busted draw.

I'd rather bet the turn than call the river.

My thinking exactly - so I called.

Results:
Final pot: $12.25
SB showed 2h 2c
Hero showed 4d 5d.

I also really like a turn bet here...just didn't think of it at the time.

2/3 doesnt matter, we need to be losing more than 3/4 here to not call... Just wanted to clarify..
Its thin value but Id call it, the turn check looks like weakness to the villain so he might take a shot with any 2

Really?
Betting 5 high, trying to push guy off a draw, which doesn't happen at NL25 seems like bigger spew to me.

River call is close. I don't think it really matters on the long run.

Yeah yeah yeah you guys are right obviously, it's 3/4 not 2/3, mea culpa. I don't know why I thought 2/3. That's an important clarification. Anyway, I still don't call here without a MAJOR read that his 1/2 pot bet on river is a bluff.

Don't call this. THis is a block/valuebet from a pair of 8-10 so often. It is better to raise than call.

If the villain is that aggressive, busted flush draw is less likely because he only called your relatively big c-bet and never tried to push you off.

But: I bet this would be a +ev raise with your imago if villain is decent. You would be representing 8 quite well if you had been just a little passive earlier. I don't think villain has there ever a hand that stands a raise.
