I often check this river because nothing worse calls(usually) and people will bluff sets and worse flushes here.

As villian called your sizable turn bet i would be putting him on a lower flush.. bet the river for value.

This is a really standard river bet for me.

Yeh i was trying to encourage a bluff here, but i figured a few hands would call a value bet

when you bet the river and he pushes all in then what? its not unreasonable for villain to smooth call turn with A /images/graemlins/spade.gif.check the river as played, allow worse flushes/non flush hands to try and bluff.

as a side note, bet more on the flop. 2 sounds good.

Fold to the allin. I would hate to miss value because of 1 card though. I think the number of times he calls you with a weaker flush makes up for the rare spot where you run into an A /images/graemlins/spade.gif

As I think about the hand more, I think you are correct with the bet-fold. Theres enough hands that will pay me off and I cant worry about one card in the deck.
Thanks guys
