what's with the turn raise, your hand is not very strong, the board is dry, no need to charge any draws. no need to build a big pot w/ a marginal hand either, you would also hate it if MP came over the top and you had to fold. your hand actually DOES have showdown value, after all u have TP. as played check behind on the river, as no better hands are folding to a river bet.

Yeh, you are right, the turn is a little screwey. Would anyone consider the 5 on the river a good bluffing card?

What exactly where you trying to achieve on the turn? Just getting control of the pot?

Your raise, either lends itself to looking like a set that was slowplayed, or just bluff/semibluff. The 5 of clubs does not really help any hand that calls a raise preflop, so raising on that card doesn't seem to define your hand to your opponent, which makes it less likely your river bet will accurately represent a hand that makes him fold.

However, you might still be able to get away with betting $5-$6 here on the end, making it look like a set betting for value, or something like KT. It's entirely likely he has QJ here too and folds to such a bet (but you beat that hand at showdown anyway).

As played though, you should just check behind, you might get a split. I double hands you cannot beat (AK, KQ, KJ, KT) are folding to any bet you make on the river.

Yeh I was trying to grab control, but you are correct, that card really doesnt define anything. Thank you for your input

Im one off the button and the button is tight as hell. Im too laggy to drop this hand to a small raise with pos to a big stack. Implied odds anyone?

Preflop - If I decide I want to play this hand I am 3-betting it preflop

Flop - Standard

Turn - I don't mind this because it gets you a free showdown when you miss and if you hit you can extract more value because the pot will be bigger
