View Full Version : Set on the flop on a drawy board, all in standard or a donk play?

Here's one of those hands which to me seems like a no brainer, but some might think otherwise? I'd rather not slowplay this since it's so drawy, and I'd rather have my stack in earlier rather then later. I assume people won't like my flop raise since it's so small, but it does give me the info I need.

Standard, unless he is drawing to s astraight flush, even if he hits you still have outs, pairing etc.
Additionally, I cant imagine you being behind very often at all...

dont fold sets! I'd be more then happy to get it all in with 44 here.

golden rule: never fold sets on the flop

In an unraised pot? If he had raised pre-flop, easy shove. In an unraised pot against the BB?

I guess the more important question... what's calling us here (in an unraised pot, by a guy that raised us). 44, 66, 58, 35, 8c9c, 5c8c... what else?

you still have good equity against a straight the only hand that beats us, villain could easily have 2pr/big draw/smaller set.

He had 35 for the flopped straight, but a 6 hit the board on the turn to outdraw his straight.

Well played. Sets on the flop rule. You had like 10 outs. It's fine.
