Villan was 29/28 over a small sample of hands, and made a standard button raise. Due to my image at the time, I felt that a re-raise was the best play pre-flop, instead of folding / flat calling OOP. I make a standard c-bet and villan flat calls. I imagine that villan has a hand such as 88. On the turn I hit my Q. I bet again, and am raised and realise that I'm playing a big pot.

I check this turn a lot. You shouldnt worry about being outdrawn, and it makes it easier to get value from worse hands on the river (if he checks behind). It might also induce a bluff.

One thing I always tell myself in weird situations (unless against a complete maniac with a read) is this.

Small hands, small pots. Big hands, big pots.

You have a small hand here. I don't really like the re-raise PF.
