Why so bad?

I am not really worried about being outdrawn here. MP was tight so he has a pocket pair a lot. It is a patented 'valuecheck', so I can get value from weaker hands on later streets more easily. If main villain has KQ I'll get his money anyhoo.

I think you've got to push here. The guy would have to be brain damaged (or a genius) to do this with a hand that beats you but the available draws could do this as well and you'll have to pay him off if you flat call and he hits.
