Are there people/firms who, when states begin to loosen up gambling restrictions, assist entrepreneurs in opening card room & gaming parlors?

Massachusetts is considering opening up gambling restriction - possibly casinos, possibly just slots. Depending on how things shake out and perhaps to help things shake out my way) I am considering contacting such a firm.

Does anyone know of any full-time gaming lobists on the east cost?

Frank Catania, Catania & Associates, New Jersey. (I do not have his telephone handy, but hey you are an entrepeneur.)

I also live in Massachusetts and I would love to see a casino go up too, since Foxwoods can be a bit of a hassel to get to.

Actually, I don't want casinos to get approved in Mass. Rather, I'd like to see either card rooms or small slot arcades get approved.

You see, I don't want to play in a card room. I want to own one.

Why would you pay him a dime? Because he used to be involved in gambling on a state level in New Jersey? Because he sat on the board of an advisory company to OnGame that did absolutely nothing? Because he gave boring testimony in front of Congress a few times that was worthless? If you want to setup a site find out what your state laws are (talk to an attorney in your area), incorporate with the sec. of state's office, set up a website, develop software, blah blah blah.

I wasn't planning on paying him anything. The OP asked for a name, I gave him one.

(I have never paid or taken money from Frank, have never retained him, and have zero relationship with his company.)

I'm working on all those things.

My thoughts are that if I can find someone who has already helped open card rooms and slot arcades in, say, Dogpatch Iowa, then his advice would be worth while when dealing with state reps & city counselors in my home state.

Just like, once I've got my gaming lisence, building permits & occupency permits, I'm going to want a consultant to advise on how to run a card room in the most profitable manner.

See, that's the good thing about being the age I am. Life has taught me that I do not, in fact, already know everything.
