The game is in sterling. Villian has just sat down but he bought in maximum and i dont think hes a fish. Does anyone fold this and wait for a better oppurtunity or is it a instant call at these stakes???

I thought this was a stupid question, but then saw the OP is fairly new, so good for him asking!

Yeah, call. He just showed up. Why don't you think he's a fish?

I once folded KK against some regular in exact same situation and stakes and felt good about it. If no reads, instacall.

Folding KK preflop is an error in the long run even with reads. everytime you get AA against you, you still have 20% chance of winning it...and youd be surprised how often they have TT, JJ, QQ, AK...etc...

How come people can fold KK preflop but never fold JJ when I 4-bet shove AK?

It's good that you actually consider KK to be foldable. You may actually see yourself folding KK correctly in the future. However, at these stakes and against an unknown, the hand you describe makes for an easy call.
