Villain is my favorite fish, I love him. The reason I am at the table. Stacks off very light. Slowplays monsters, but loves suicide bluffs. Running 48/23/3.l7 over 429 hands. River agression 3.86. He's always at least 300bbs when he's at the table, because he keeps gambling until he has that stack. I doubled up against him on one of the first hands when I pushed AA over his 10bbs raise preflop.

The reason for the small bets is because he always thinks I am just playing back at him when I do those, and that is a great way to build a pot against him IMO.

What is the best way to try and get him to donate the rest?

Your hand is ridiculously strong, and he sounds like a total tard, so you don't have to worry about balancing your play or making properly sized raises. You want to get another $10 in and it comes down to his tendencies as a player.

You need to bet here. I would consider a minbet or something if he is likely to raise (given earlier streets + your description), depends on how well you know him. If he just calls such a bet he is probably done with hand.

I think the most straightforward play here is to bet around $4.50, it gives him 5:1, he's likely to shove over the top, and if he calls, you can shove the remaining $6 on the river still giving him 5:1.

Yeah, I like a bet of 5 on both the turn and the river (but I also raise the flop higher, to around 9)

thac hero only has a ~PSB left (well less than that I think).

This is definitely a check IMO. Mostly due to your "likes to make suicide bluffs" comment. Shoving this river with a busted flush draw definitely qualifies as suicide bluff.

Yeah but villains are more apt to call small bets than they are big bets and it baits them right in. I do agree that checking is "ok" but he's not folding if we bet so we may as well bet and hope he shoves.

At first I thought to check behind, and raise his river bet. That would probably work, but I like a smallish bet here ($4-5). Push the river.

based on your read and his rvier aggression and you having position, If he ahs the case 8 or hits anything on the river, let him put the money in. i check turn/ and RAI on river. You have more history on him than us but if youre sure he bets rivers like a mofo go aheadand make him play his hand badly, dont let him make a good turn fold.

I like to bet 1/3 of the pot in these spots. If he is a huge donk, he might still call with a weak hand, but if he likes his hand, he might reraise. Even if he reraises to $10, he's pot committed and you can shove.

Let him improve or take a stab on the river.

Go like 4 on the turn, 6 on the river. No one ever folds houses and especially not this guy, so I wouldn't be too worried about him folding on the turn. If you check the turn you do give him the chance to improve but he now has to call a 5/7 pot bet instead of a 2/7 pot turn and a 3/11 pot river.

Given villains tendencies this is a mandatory turn check as he'll likely bet the river. Absolutely mandatory check here IMO.
