Ok, so I knew about this from other sources and I guess I should be happy that I *finally* am getting some news from them since I joined when they did their first push ~a year ago. But come on, how hard is it to get notices out to members BEFORE things happen?

That is odd. I think most members got the notice well in advance of the chat though.

ottsville, I will note that after signing up 24 hours before the webcast, I received 4 seperate reminders about it... the most I've ever heard from the PPA via email /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Did they discuss the fact that Barney Frank has dumped any idea of a poker exemption ? (I am not doomsaying. Overall I thought his remarks were a refreshing, practical analysis of the political landscape and what he could do regarding BANKING issues, the crux of the UIGE Act.)

If so, what was Plan B for the PPA ? Are they going to beat a dead horse (an exemption) or are they going to take a practical approach outlined by their closest ally to date ?

I'm glad my experience seems to be the exception rather than the rule so far.

If PPA is going to capitalize on the "recreational" players that they have managed to recruit into their ranks they need to make sure that they are doing things to notify those members of events. I mean, if I were to have joined through one of the freerolls they were doing on stars and got this after the webcast, I'd think they were really some fly-by-night operation....

I received three or four emails prior to the webcast as well.

A poker exemption is not the answer, and would also be against WTO rulings and agreements. Frank wants all online gaming open to adults which is how it should be. A crazy 'poker exemption' would just complicate the matter further. Frank is too smart to go down that wrong path.
