1st Time playing 25-50

I was at the Venetian today playing 2-5 NL.
I got a cooler. I had 1010. All the money goes in on the turn.
The board is: J 10 5 2 J. He flips over JJ. So now I'm down 800 and see that there's a 25-50 game going on. I ask if it's an open game and ask to be put on the list. Just so happens there's a seat open so I sit down w/ about 8k.
2hrs later I walk out w/ 22k.

The hand that put me up: 6 handed. Hero has about 12.5k. Villain covers.

Hero is BB w/ 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

Pre-Flop: UTG folds, Villain calls, call, button calls, SB completes, Hero checks. 5 players

Flop: (250) 4 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 5 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 6 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

Check, Hero bets 250, villain instacalls, call, fold, fold. 3 players

Turn: (1000) J /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Hero bets 1200, Villain calls, fold.

River: (3400) 7 /images/graemlins/club.gif

Hero bets 2000 Villain pauses and then says, "All In" I double check the board and triple check my cards and count on my fingers to make sure I have a straight and then make sure there's no higher straight. Then I call. Villain flips over 78. He flopped the nuts. Best session ever.

hahaha - been there done that... I guess my problem when I chase losses is that I usually only move from 2/5 to 5/10nl... I will remember to skip 3 levels next time.
