Villian has been playing somewhat abc and hasn't gotten out of line.

Does this deserve a 3-bet to see if I'm up against a set? Or do I call and re-evaluate on the turn? What if a club falls on the turn?

i usually always 3-bet here, he could well be min-raising with a draw or possibly a set/overcards. I think you need to 3 bet here to see where you stand. id probably re-raise to around $15-$18 in most cases...

but against this guy who you say is playing solid abc... sometimes i would just call and see what the turn brings and check/call it down if you still feel you have the best hand.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong in my thinking here. Since he min-raised and you guys are kind of deepish, shouldn't you call even if you know he has a set to draw for a queen on the turn? The pot odds plus implied odds make that profitable I think.

Given that sometimes he won't have a set I think this is an easy call. He could have JT or pocket 8s or a draw or all kinds of stuff too. I don't think raising here will gain you much against an ABC guy.

I call here and check turn. Maybe he just wants a free card. Let him have it. Protect your stack and keep the pot small.

Probably wants a free card and you let him have it? /images/graemlins/confused.gif RR on the flop sounds like a good plan and could be the way to go, also I can suggest calling his minraise and try bet/fold the turn.
