Main villain is solid/conservative and I haven't seen him go wild like this on any dangerous board. Stats 30/6/2. Short stack is unknown.

why are you calling turn if you're folding river? The scarecard is on the turn, I don't see anything new coming to light on the river, and I'm not sure what kind of action you expected to go on the river after how the turn went

Very good question...looks really stupid.

I have 300 hands on this guy. He's very ABC and I could see him betting turn with trips but not pushing with them after two calls. At least that was my thinking at the time.

well the river is a scary card to a guy with trips since any 7 now beats you. so the river push might confirm that the guy has a boat. if you think this guy would never stack off with trips on this board I suppose this is a good fold, but I'm very wary of 'good folds' since I am a complete pot odds calling station.

Even though I had a decent read on this guy I think Supwithbates is probably right that turn call is bad if I'm going to fold river...even with a strong read, 300 hands isn't enough.

The results didn't really clarify whether this was a good read or not.

I think you are push or fold on that turn, its obviously going in on the river anyway. I personally would go broke here quite happily in a limped pot. He could have some lame trips or two pair.

If villain is as solid as you say, hes a total moron for not raising that flop if he has a set, so I cant put him on that.

As played I think you MUST call this river just based on the possibility that SB could be trying to squeeze with a 7 on the turn, thinking you both are still drawing, and now he thinks that his straight has hit on the river even though you've "topped him out". I cant fold this river given odds.

Two things here:

1. Villain sucks a LOT and you should buddylist him, his flop play is SO SO SO BAD

2. I read super goot /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

this was actually the first thing I put him on (that or 76) when I read how the hand went down.

My earlier judgment remains. Shove or fold turn, and I'd base the decision on my read, but I lean more towards shove since you've got the nut straight and are stacking 75 as well as trips.

Yeah...my read on him changed a bit after that. I think he knew it was a terrible flop call though as after I said "NH" /images/graemlins/shocked.gif in chat he felt the need to explain it without prompting: "I only came along on the flop because (shorty) was in".
