Against this villain PF and flop are fine...I B/F turn because of SD and FD..Atleast make a small VB on the river...

are you calling a shove on the flop?

if not, your raise sucks balls. and even if you are, it may very likely still suck balls.

Villain is betting w/ any part of the flop and I think A9 is wayyyyyyyyyy ahead of his holdings here. I'd be inclined to get AI w/ tptk versus such a poor villain.

I don't understand this. Can you expand on why it is horrible to raise here if you're not willing to call a shove?

Oh also for rest of hand, the 2 doesnt help him, can't see it giving him 2 pair, dont think he has overpair, if he had flopped 2 pair he'd have pushed the flop. You can definatly make a value bet on the turn. Then check behind the river as J10 just got there. The club flush (which he probably was waiting for) did not, but if he has a busted mofo he aint calling anyways.

Thanks for the replies, value betting the river seems correct, considering how passive the turn and river played. However, this time I got lucky, since villain showed down JJ, wich was kind of surprising.

i like the flop raise and then a bet/fold on turn because he could be on a combo draw. as played i think a value bet on the river is too thin - K9 and 3cXc are the only hands that might pay you off.
