Hmm...tough to say where you're at here. From the villain's perspective I've fired second barrels before in this type of a spot with hands that cannot beat yours (of course depending on the opponent and other factors), though it's very read-dependant here. Without anything to go on I'd probably let it go and wait for a better spot.

Just for the sake of argument (cause I suspect this is suicidal), can we imagine that the flop bet is likely a cbet and come over the top? Has some FE, too?

Otherwise, our preflop call seems dumb. We either have a top pair hand that hit, or a flush draw hand that didn't, so calling the flop bet is sort of a prayer that the CO shuts down now, please.

Or am I just betting 1/3 our stack for info?

i think his line is fine. I assume that your plan was to call the flop and fold to a turn bet or bet the turn and check behind on the river?

raising the flop bet most likely doesn't do anything but fold out weak aces. AK or better is coming with us. about the only hand that i can see folding to a flop raise is maybe AQ, but only if the player is disciplined.

yeah i was def going to bet if he checked, and his pot sized bet on the turn felt like a good ace that doesnt want me drawing out. str8 and flush draw abound. just looking for feed back. i think this is super standard

Re-raise or fold preflop. As played, you have to raise the flop.
