I have just started switching play from limit to no-limit. Within the past week, I've increased my BR from 200 to 315. However, tonight i had a pretty bad downswing and went from 310 to 260 playing .5/.10 and little bit .10/.25. Is a swing like this normal for a no limit player? Also, with a bankroll size of 260, what no-limit stakes do players usually play at?

Downswings of 5 buyins are perfectly normal, and since you were also playing at NL25, it was really only 2 buyins. Nothing at all to sweat about if you believe you are +EV in the game.

With 260, I would play NL10 until 300-350ish. Then I would take shots at NL25 untiand only drop back if I hit 200-225. This is my personal preference, others may be tighter or looser with their BR requirements.

Here's a current thread in small stakes about this topic:

It is SCARY how many good players regularly have 10 buy-in downswings.

i started at 200 dropped ~5 buyins not including rake ~7buyins and then upswang close to 6 buyins+bonuses next day. lesson is, alls well that ends well. im a current NL10 player and plan on taking shots at NL25 around 400-500 with drop back at 350. i will sit NL25 fulltime at 600 and 5k+ hands at it.
