This is my normal line against unknown with this type of hand.

Should I just fold on the flop or is it ok play to call and see if villain is willing to bet again on the turn?

you did not get check raised, because that requires villain to check to you first. as played w/o reads this is a fold on the turn. call the flop raise as you have a hand w/ showdown value. c/f to further aggression.
