Given this guys stats you need to be careful when playing QJ. Usually just your Q or J alone won't be good here if you plan on calling behind so you want to end this quickly. I would probably RR the flop to $2 or $2.25 and make him pay to outdraw me. If he called that then I'm not sure what I'd do after the K hits. That's obv a bad card for you. I think simply calling the turn is bad. I would probably raise the turn and bluff having KJ and see what happens. If he calls that then I fold the river. As played, the river is a definite fold IMO. This guy is a calling station so he's not folding to an AI bluff and you're beat by so many hands.

you do realize that I hit a K high straight on the river, don't you? And not very many hands beat me here that are in his range, therefore river shove is for value

Villain plays 40%+ of his hands. What exactly is his range? This might not be a horrible play b/c I think a lot of times if he does have two pair or something, he'll probably call. However, I think in the heat of the moment, I would just call the river bet.

I think I would raise on the flop. multiway pots where you have a mediocre top pair and the board is wet are a nightmare though.

raise to:
give bad odds to button
give bad odds to cheaky lead with flush draw from BB (perhaps 25% of his range here)
value-bet vs dodgy top pairs and worse that BB is leading with (another 25% of range)
bluff/get free card on turn for pot control vs KJ, poss AJ.

calling keeps the pot smaller plus probably gets us a look at the turn, but I like staying agressive here, and you'll be in a better position than when the turn is slightly threatening, it's still three-way, and you're checked to.

on the turn i drop. you don't have many clean outs, and this is fairly strong stuff with the overcard coming.

river fine since AQ or clubs are unlikely, and there are a number of hands that level that call for $4 more.

either the exact same way or raise flop depending on how I'm feeling about my opponent and the button.

[/ QUOTE ]No. I missed that. Got distracted at work mid-post. I think the river is fine then.
