The villain is unknown. When the river came, he made the bet very quickly, almost immediately. If he had something like KJ, QJ, I think he would at least think about his play. Am I beat by 2pair or stronger here?

I'd say you're beat here most of the time. Basically for me it's too unlikely a river bluff given river card. IMO opponents betting pattern fits:
i)slowplay having hit flop hard- TJ/22.. (chance BB had c/r in mind on the turn)
ii)KQ
iii)AT

What if he took a few seconds to bet out the river? Would that make a difference?

I think you see this from 98 and Q9 and not much more (edit: in terms of what you beat), and that would make this a fold. The quick river bet makes me think he had JT FWIW.

I call. You have TPGK and you're getting decent odds. Plus the information could be of value since it is the beginning of the session. Is he a trapping player? was he floating you? I think it's worth it to call.

Not only do you get valuable information regarding his floating or trapping tendancies, you gain info on his pre-flop-raise calling range. For all the info you stand to gain, i'd probably call this river for $10
