Is it right always to call pf raise with any pair if both have big stacks, say max buyins? And how big raises you can call pf just for looking for a set? Say guy raised 6xbb from utg+1 and I had 44 and called his bet only looking for a set. Is this right?

Depends how he tends to play his overpairs, in case you put him on one UTG+1, raising 6BBs. If he overplays them, pushes all-in on flops etc, you can call I guess. But if he is tight and cautious, you don't get enough value out of one win (in case he has AKs and hits crap) to get +EV over time...

my 2 cents

Traditional advice is the 5-10 rule:
Call if raise is <5% of effective stack, fold if >10%, and if between 5-10% then choose based on position, read, etc.

Recently someone (Dbitel??) did a very convincing calculation that this "rule" should really be more like the 3-7 rule. If anyone has that link I'd appreciate it.
