Just started playing again after about 18 mos, never really played NL cash games before, but that's what they are playing here so...just wanted to make sure I'm not totally donking these hands.

.25/.50 live NL with stacks between ~$10 and ~$80

Most of the table is pretty loose, with wide range of aggression, two biggest stacks are slightly tighter and much more aggro, esp. postflop.

hand 1, I'm UTG
Stacks (approx)
SB: $40
BB: $70
Me: $35
UTG+1 : $40
MP1 : $30
MP2(TAG1) : $80
LP(TAG2) : $100
Button: $10

I have A /images/graemlins/diamond.gifA /images/graemlins/club.gif

UTG+1 Calls

Flop: 3 /images/graemlins/spade.gif9 /images/graemlins/heart.gifq /images/graemlins/spade.gif
Pot ~ $30 with one all in.
I push.

Given table conditions, any normal sized raise is just going to leave me OOP playing aces against 4+ opponents, so was looking for either TAG to raise (both had been raising multiple limpers to $5+ repeatedly). After button pushed PF my plan was to call and push on any flop if UTG+1 called.

2nd hand, same opponents roughly, except I'm BB with Red Tens.

UTG raises to $2.50, UTG+1 ($30) calls, MP1 (TAG with $80) calls, 2 folds, Button and SB both call, I call.

Pot ~ $18

I Check, UTG Bets $4, UTG+1 raises to $9, MP1 Calls, 2 folds, I push.

Is the check bad?
