Newbie's me, and this table is totally weak-tight. Don't have the exact hand histories, but I'll do my best. I'm probably going to get berated for my postflop play. Be nice =P

NL ($10 6-max)
Stack sizes: all deep-stacked

Preflop:
Hero is BB with K /images/graemlins/club.gif J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

UTG raises to $.20, MP folds, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, Hero raises to $1, UTG calls, CO folds, Button calls, SB folds.

Flop ($3.40): 9 /images/graemlins/club.gif 8 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 3 /images/graemlins/heart.gif
Hero checks, UTG checks, Button checks

Turn ($3.40): 2 /images/graemlins/spade.gif
Hero bets $2

All comments/flames appreciated. I'm still learning.

I think at 10NL, you'll never get it down to heads up with this sort of play (unless you have a good read). So you're almost always going to the flop out of position with a marginal hand at best against multiple opponents, which is never a great situation to be in. Just my .02

i think you would need to bet more than that to make those 4 guys fold and I don't think it's worth it. Keep it simple

why check the flop if you try something like this?

To be honest, I'm not quite sure. I didn't want to get suckered in by the UTG if he was minraising and subsequently slowplaying a monster. Once it got checked around on the flop, I figured I might as well take a shot at it. *shrug*

You have a raiser and 3 callers before you, this is 10NL, you have a marginal hand, you're going to get looking up by all sorts of garbage - this is a major spew.

If this table is weak/tight, they are not acting like it when 3 guys call a preflop (min)raise. I'd take the free flop here and try to hit hard. If you try to "squeeze", make it bigger. But in general, extremely straightforward play is best on NL10.

Unless you have strong reads indicating that you have a good chance of taking down the pot. I'm not sure that the table is truely weak/tight when UTG makes a minraise, and gets called by 3 people. Seems more like loose passive to me.

But if you have seen them do stuff like this, and then fold to a raise, then by all means go for it.

ya i definitely agree with the 'dont squeeze at $10 NL',you dont need fancy play, they just call (as you can see) exploit that instead of making a big heroic bluff.....
you had marginal cards anyways, just call preflop, check/fold flop

Note also that the 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif is not the scariest card in the world. This bluff looks like a bluff to me.

NL10 players call way too much, but this makes them pretty good hand readers -- they're in a lot of pots with marginal hands.

I'd call preflop, c/f flop and turn. Wait for a better spot.
