hand history didn't work in the converter.
Tilt 25NL 6 MAX
I raise in first pos to 1, big blind reraises me to 5.25

My thinking is this, he has a big pair or AK. If he has JJ, QQ, I'm a 2-1 to flop an A, or K and take the lead, Im only getting 1.5-1. if he has AA or KK im in huge trouble and dont even have close to the odds to calls. Is just folding this hand here the best line?

obv stack sizes are quite important, assuming 100BBs I would call this IP and raise OOP as I dont mind getting AI PF w/ AK OOP but would rather play the hand post-flop IP. Therefore I call.

You're in position, but I still hate calling here. Folding is best without reads, you're pretty much a coinflip or splitting with another AK at best, at worst you're destroyed by AA or KK.

Ugh, no, this is horrible.

...whats reasoning behind this? I find that people who make giant overraises with JJ or QQ preflop often call an all in here, i dont really want to get my money in if I'm at best 50/50, is folding a -EV here? is calling -EV? I dont see how pushing here would be +EV but if other people think can you explain your reasoning

this NL25, villain is clearly not good. we're not calling. and we're not folding. that leaves pushing.

Edit: we're not deep, if we're both 200+ BBs deep, it's a totally different hand

Good logic. Seriously, no, this is an easy fold. Villain made a very large reraise. He's not folding to a push here, which means we're getting our money in at best as a coinflip. Just because villain is not good doesn't mean he doesn't get dealt good cards just like you and me. Most villains at uNL are passive, especially when it comes to 3-betting.

It doesn't have to be AA, but JJ+, AK is probably an accurate representation of his range barring any reads. If he's bad, as you seem to assume, then pushing is even worse, since your FE is 0 in that case. Glad to see that you're contributing thoughtful posts to the forums though.

uNL's no.1 poster?????

I don't like a push here as I think calling would be much better as we are IP and can outplay him post flop and we get to see a flop.

I also don't like a fold as I think he is doing this w/ worse aces and a lot of lower pocket pairs than AA/KK. Considering there is already money in the pot we can profitably call if villian has a lower PP, we are dominating his AQ type hands and are obv being dominated by AA/KK, all in all I think that we are ahead of his range and IP with some money already in the pot, call.

seriously, JJ+ and AK is WAY too narrow. all PPs, AJs+ AQ+ random crap. and we do have FE vs the small PPs. you're flipping vs QQ and lower pps that call. you're 30/70 vs KK and dead to AA. splitting vs AK. what value are you going to get from PPs<KK when an A/K hits? push now and (if) he calls you get to see all five cards.

by the way, this was real insightful:

Have you even played uNL on full tilt??? AJs AQ random crap are not in the range of 99% of people.. this is usually QQ+. I agree with the other posters that you have like 0 fold equity. Why push flipping with JJ/QQ and getting crushed by AA and KK.. you can find much better spots for your money.

meh, haven't played on FT and still stand by pushing, but if that's not the consensus, i'll just let it go

if you're not pushing, this is a clear fold
