Villain is 47/17/7 over 15 hands and over that time I've been catching some cards and beating him up. I'm pretty sure he's steaming. Comments?

This is pretty dependent on how steaming you think he is and also if he's been steaming, how has he been doing it? I've seen players tilt by raising every hand and betting every street and I've seen players tilt by folding till they get AA on open pushing pf.

If you think that he's willing to bluff 3 streets this is perfect, raising anywhere serves no purpose as he'll just shut down.

Also lol samplesizeaments. I'm sure I've been worse than 47/17 over 15 hands before. His tilt history is way way way more important than his stats, though I'm pretty sure you know this.

Your read is either correct or its not.

I think I like to raise the flop to 6 or so to really find out where I am. If called and villain checks the turn I fire a 2/3 psb, shutting down if called and folding to any raise.

If you trust your read it's good.

isn't this statement trivially true?

bad. When the 5 hits, you're beating nothing.

The logic behind this post is that the hand isn't something that the 2+2 community can really help him with. Obviously OP thought that there was a good chance villain was firing 3 streets with air as he was tilting, so calling him down is pretty clearly correct. However, the forum members have no clue how hard he was tilting, so the hand ultimately comes down to whether OP's read was correct or not.

Thank you Xanta /images/graemlins/smile.gif
This is a reason I don't like attaching "reads" to the hand. Since a "read" always overrrids logic we can only help so much correcting technical aspects of the play, like bet sizing and odds assesment, but what the OP is really asking is "Is my read correct or not?" and there is nothing I can add to this.
