View Full Version : NL 50 - Light 3-betting against a TAG, tricky multiway turn/river play

UTG is 28/17/2.2 in many hands and is a decent TAG, while BB is 78/14/2.0 in 40 hands. I have been occasionally 3-bet against TAG to mix it up and successfully take the pot frequently via a continuation-bet on the flop (another side benefit is my AA and KK gets considerable action when I 3-bet). However, in this case, preflop is a light 3-bet gone awry. Turn call is due to high implied odds and an absolute disguised holding if I hit the flush.

Any comments on my play?

He probably has AQcc. I can't make anything else fit. BB has a flush some of the time here, but whatever go broke. I suppose its possible he checks AK on that flop, but I dunno I doubt it honestly.

I would push river all the same.

If you have a donk liberally calling 3-bets, you probably shouldn't be 3-betting light.

As played, bet the flop. If they don't have an A, a set, or a FD, they often just muck it, and UTG's hand is quite probably a smallish PP. (Obviously don't bet if the donkey is very likely to have an A.)

I don't know about the turn call... probably break even.

River is ok. I'd push too. You'll get stacked every now and then by the bigger flush, of course, but whatever.

Haha. Preflop is horrid. Turn isn't that bad. River is std.
