Villain is 56/26/2

Should I have checked this flop considering that if I raise and get re-raised I have to call? Should I have checked this flop no matter what the chip count?

Probley bet and if raised fold, it looks like your bet to a overpair inless you have a good read, I'd find a better spot to get it all in with.

so maybe a raise to $6 and then fold? Even then I'm getting 2.6 to 1 and I may even be good here sometimes.

Is that proper thinking?

It's a good flop for you, so bet out 3/4 pot and call a reasonable raise. c/f turn and river.

but look at his stack. should I just check the flop because any kind of action may commit me to the pot. IE if I raise his bet on the flop to 6 and he goes all in.

Raise PF.

As you played it (c/r), you must call his shove. We are pretty much flipping with AA and the like and are getting sick odds. The question is should you have been there in the first place?

I think that your c/r is fine. Though you should also consider c/c-ing...especially given stack sizes/villan type.

"The question is should you have been there in the first place?"

Are you saying fold to his preflop raise?
