Villain is 25.7/15.1/2.44 and may be a little suspicious of my play as I check raised him all in with a missed flush draw earlier in a blind war and got him to fold. I did lose this hand and I'm just wondering if I played it wrong or I'm being results oriented.

Did he have 22, 88, A6, 26, 86 or an overplayed spade draw?

In any case, when he raises the turn, bells should go off. You do not have the nuts. Think pot control. Flat call.

At 25NL, so many players stack themselves off by overplaying third or fourth nuts instead of exercising pot control. Even if villain is a maniac, he could have u beat here.

Think about villain's POV. Is he shoving because he expects a call (most likely), or has he been running you over (doesn't sound like it)? If you are LAG, then villain is probably shoving because he expects a call, which he got.

This is a good example of overplayed trips. FWIW, I found it very easy to beat 25NL by playing ABC poker. Players are consistently overplaying their hands. I just sat back and waited for them to pay me off. Raise a lot PF, throw in a few failed bluffs, and folds to re-raises and they will give u action with the third nuts when all the money goes in and it counts.

Great post I always think my trips are the nuts and end up getting stacked because I can't fold and think my oppenents are donks when they obviously aren't. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

deluz is right. Especially since you guys are playing almost 200BBs deep, its VERY bad to play this hand for stacks on the turn. I think smooth calling his turn RR is okay, as is 3 betting it, but once he 4 bets this becomes an easy fold IMO.

BB raises to $52.15 = Clear fold for me
What he got? 22, 88 or 68s ?
