i raise PF, as played rivre is a call i guess since if you raise you have to fold to a push

if you're raising it should be something like a minraise/fold line IMO.

Nut straight not so hot with both a flush out and the board paired and the villain showing strength. Just call.

If you're thinking about just calling you should probably just go ahead and fold then right?

raise the river. this guy looks like a calling station. i would probably make a smallish raise, to like $11.

This guy's inability to size a bet minimizes your losses when you just call and you're beaten. If he calls a push or a decent reraise, you're probably not getting paid off. If he 3bets, I'm not sure what I would do. I think he's trying to show aggression over the course of the hand, but doesn't know how to do so effectively. In light of all this, I'll take a cheap showdown with a 3rd or 4th best possible monster.

that was my thoughts about his river bet. looked like it was begging a raise. he ended up having A8o for trip 8's, MHIG

i figured i could find a better spot later to stack him w/out a scary board

I dont like min-raising and folding here, some of the times you get 3 bet and fold your hand will be good and the loss of equity in a $20 pot isnt worth the extra $5 you get when called, if you do raise make it more like $15 so at least your win is worth something, but its only the extreme donkishness of villain that makes a bet worth considering, against normal players I'd check call.

Nobody is 3-bet shoving a worse hand than yours on this board, ever at any stakes.

Against this guy I think you're losing value here. I like a smallish raise to somewhere between 12-15.

I'd guess you get shoved over far less than 10%, you get called by a better hand maybe 20% but I really think you're good and get called by virtually every single worse hand this not so bright looking guy has like 70% of the time.

Against a good, solid, thinking opponent, (or even someone with one of these qualities) raising would probably be an ill advised bluff.

Don't push though.
