View Full Version : Panella86 on pokerstars 100/200

as most of us would guess, the guy that won the WCOOP main event is now sitting on 100/200 Pokerstars - looking for an opponent -

as far as I know, he's 18 and prone to drinking - anyone looking to pluck chickens should reload immediately - esp. you 100/200 players - /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Except I thought that this guy was playing on his friend's account and was going to transfer all the money to himself.

maybe he's still playing on his "friend's account" or something.

If I had the roll I would be happy to take him on heads-up.
He's obviously a decent player with his back-to-back final tables in the WCOOP...but I have my doubts as to whether he's really THAT freaking good.
Very little chance that he's nearly as good as he THINKS he is.

whiskeytown
09-21-2005, 06:09 PM
he didn't have back to back finishes - unless you mean over the course of 15 days...or else he played them under a different account....

in fact, the poker database only shows one other tourney on PS he's played in - this win was his only one..

His name is Jordan Berkowitz. He used his mom's account to make the final table last year in 7th (PagonaB for Pagona Berkowitz). This year he used a friend's account, Panella86, and won this year.

Before the chop, it was north of $800,000, but panella took down about $570,000, if I recall correctly.

+ the 50K that was left on the table to play for - I remember when they did the chop it was like 52, 55, and 57K and whoever won would be the one that won the most - the deal was pretty close to even cause everyone was very close in chip counts -

the tard said he was only gonna take the deal initially if the money could be transferred to another account - when they said they couldn't, he went with it anyways...

There's a big difference between a solid tourney player and high stakes cash game player.

Rumor has it his shots at big cash games before didn't, uh, work out so well.

I would definately take on him if I were bankrolled for 5k$ HU .. right now hes making a good shot at blowing trough his $$ at two 100/200 short handed games and one 5k$ HU match ... that just can't be positive EV for him!

example.. if you play some of the best on stars in 4 5k$ HU matches you 4-TABLE HU against the best! each of them 1-table against you.. how can you beat them? and im a high stakes player.. just not that high lol

conclusion: 4 tabling head up with 20k$ on stake at a time = stupid (has to be?)

Most eyes were on a man named Curt. He only had $600 in chips and the antes were eating him alive. I stepped away for two seconds. When I returned, Curt had his final $200 in chips in the middle. The button put in a raise, and to many people's surprise, both blinds called. The flop came out Q88. The blinds checked to the button, who, again to everybody's surprise, bet out. The small blind bailed out, but the big blind called. The turn came as a seven. This time the surpise came from the big blind, Jordan Berkowitz, who bet out. Now, the button came over the top all in. Berkowitz thought for a few moments before calling all in. The hands...

Curt: KK (Kings up)
Berkowitz: 77 (sevens full of eights)
Button: QQ (queens full of eights)

There are plenty of players with "skills" who are complete douchebags. The fact they have skills does not negate their overall douchebaggery.

The guy has had some short-term success in one or more MTT's. Bravo. He also:

1) Dropped out of high school (smart move!)
2) Is spending his money on jewellery, cars and clothes as quickly as he's making it.
3) Believes that he needs to walk around the house to find a "lucky room" before he can play.
4) Lives at home with his mom.
5) Wears fur coats with shorts.
6) Sounds like a retard every time he opens his mouth.

Sounds like a douchebag to me.

try and remember the things you thought were cool when you were 18

I'm 19 and I don't know why but I really resent that comment.

Shrug...... don't take it personal dude. It's just the way things are. When you're 18 you just make some choices that you look back on at 36 and say "WTF????"

Case in point: My avatar pic is me in '87

His name is Jordan Berkowitz. He used his mom's account to make the final table last year in 7th (PagonaB for Pagona Berkowitz). This year he used a friend's account, Panella86, and won this year.

Doesn't this raise a couple of flags considering JJProdigy and how he got caught? Berkowitz wins on relatives accounts. He wins on friends accounts. How many accounts does he actually play???? Does those accounts on occasion enter the same tournaments. HHHhhhmmmm
