Villain seems pretty straight forward and passive. He likes to call me in position, but this is his first 3bet into me.

I probaly just raise to $12-14 which is more likely to be called, and get the rest in on any turn.

Is this a mistake?

I don't think we want to be called. We need fold equity to make this +EV.

Preflop call is fine I guess.

The flop reraise is little bit too big for hands that you beat to call you. And you need that extra value. So raise to $10-$12 or so.

If he calls this raise some of the flop cards will pair or a 8 or 9 will pop up and he will check behind giving you a free card or cheap showdown.

Ofcourse if he calls your AI push with a hand that beats you, you still have aproximately 45% pot equity.
