6th hand in or so, no reads etc. Am new to 50nl, have played 130k hands at other micro stakes. Anyhow, I'm lost here, clearly calling not ideal so I'm guessing its a push/fold scenario?

I actually dont mind a call here, and then just try and get to SD by hopefully not having to commit much more of my stack. A push is bad because I dont really see any worse hands calling, and I cant fold an overpair here.

I really don't think we can call in this spot unless we have some kind of stellar read that villain has a hand like 88. Given that the turn or river bringing A, K, Q, 9 or any heart could put villain ahead.

Against complete unknowns I doubt either pushing or folding particularly changes your EV so I'm inclined to take the lower variance option and back down from this one for now. Plenty more spots to be had.

I push. I don't see how opp can have a seven, nor do i see how he can have QQ+. I think that he can have pocket pairs upp to JJ (JJ is ofcourse unlikely), two overcards with a flushdraw, or maybe A9 or T9/89.

Ofcourse I might be completely wrong.

What makes you rule out a 7 from his holding?

I can't rule it out completely, but I think it's unlikely because HERO raised 5 times the big blind preflop.

I think a call is best here. With no reads folding is weak, and a push will probably only get called by something that beats us. So I think I call and see what the turn brings.

What about raising it up to say 22? Then it's more likely that he calls or goes all in with hands that we beat. But if he calls we got a really difficult decesion on the turn. I don't do this play myself, but what do you guys think about it? Is it horrible?
