The half pot bet on turn, what is the reasoning behind it, are you afraid that you might price him out or ????

Basically I'm trying to put money in while I think I'm ahead. At the same time, I felt no reason to go wild here, my hand has showdown value. If I am ahead, you're right, I probably should have bet more like 25 committing myself. My main concern was the stacks being a little deep, but regardless, it may have been a little small.

The progress of a player is strange kind of thing ... at first you are felting every kind of overpair/TPTK kind of hand. Then you find 2+2 and hear things like, don't go broke with one pair ... small hand small pot - big hand big pot ... etc etc ....

Then you become a weaktight nit

After that you suddenly realize that it all is read dependent and you start to discern between the skilled regulars and the donks/fish/maniac/whatever

The former group you are carefull against and the latter you just value bet to death. A player like this I personally and trowing my stack at here at least oop, it is hard to escape from anyway as pot will grow big no matter what, and since you are crushing his range, even if you lose this pot, you are making money in the long run and that is all we can ask for.

FWIW, I am also inclined to call river, but had I played this pot, then he would have less money on river.
