I think multiway and stack sizes make this one interesting. I think I did the right action but what do people think? No reads on shorty. Full stack behind me likes to steal a lot but no real read on him for this spot. Preflop call ok vs. a shortstack?

i'd 3 bet pre to drive others out, in on any flop

i 3bet preflop for value, isolation, to gain position, and because of your terrible relative position if others come along

on the flop, it's multiway, so calling isn't terrible (i think), but in practice i raise

Why drive others out? You have a clean draw.

I think smoothcalling is fine here.

Then check what shortie does.

Oops misread it.

Mixing it up is not that bad, you have position and a great hand.

Loose table = 3 -bet. tight one is mixing the 2.

The main reason I didn't 3-bet is because then I do have to put it in on any flop...which reliquishes my positional advantage vs. a short stack.

Consensus seems to be to 3-bet pre though...I'm still unsure

[/ QUOTE ]I did call. My reasoning was that I have 0 FE against shorty so folding out SB didn't help my chances of winning the pot.
If SB folded it was all going in on the turn against UTG anyway.
If SB called my odds skyrocket.
If SB raises I get it in and am no worse off (one could argue I am better off pushing a full stack rather than RR all in or calling all in but I think that's a tiny difference or nil since he would be C/Ring).
