im in these situations a lot. so its 4.5 more to me to win a pot that is is like 9.5 plus inplied odds his stack of 50. so thats like calilng 4.5 to win 60, so about 1:30 odds.

is my thinking here right? we need 1:7.5 pot odds to call on set value.

I don't think set value is all you have going for you hand, but it is enough /images/graemlins/smile.gif

You can't win more than 49.75 from him, plus the 2 you put in + the big blind = 52.25

4.5 to win 52 is about 11 to 1.

You need to be certain that you're either going to get his stack very often when he has an overpair, or that he's reraising with many hands that are behind to make this profitable.

With position this is a pretty easy call PF. You don't need to flop a set in order to win here all of the time, unless the guy is a total rock.

I don't think set value is anywhere close to enough.

Gelford, would you make the call with 22?

99 is a pretty good hand, though, that has other ways to win so overall I think this is a call.

As far as set value goes, the probability of hitting it is as you say 1 in 8.5 times

The other points to consider .... you only win his stack if he has a high PP, and no overcard to his pair flops.

If you say that 1/2 the time his reraise is with a higher PP, then 1 in 17 times when you hit your set, he makes a higher one.

IMO you don't have implied odds here for set value. 4.50 to win $52 is too much. With an extra opponent, maybe, or for $2 yes.

Unless villain is aggro, what hands make that play? Only hand you're beating is AK, and then you're only 55%
