No reads. This river bet screams bluff to me but with no reads I was very stuck. Should I have bet more on the flop?

at least c-bet 3,5-4 on the flop. Your hand is very weak against a A or Q and with a good bet you get the information you need.

I think a bet of 2.50 on the flop would be better. It doesnt look like a weak bluff, and it will get you the info you need. A pot sized bet is too much in my opinion, as anything that will fold for 3.50 will fold for 2.50. As for the river I think this is a pretty easy fold.

i think you got to bet atleast $3 on the flop

Why do you feel that 3 is necessary. I absolutely feel that 2.50 would do the job of both folding a worse hand(as opposed to having a worse hand bluff-raise), and the better hand will let us know. It is also not small enough of a bet that he will see it as a weak bluff and come over the top. The only thing I can see that is better about $3 is getting value against a hand like 77 or some other weak pair. He did raise preflop, and this flop will have hit many of his hands. $.50 is 2bb and everything we can save is huge over the long run. If this type of situation comes up once/100 hands we can add a couple of bb.
