i like to lead out on the flop. maybe thats wrong but QQ, JJ, and even TT could be out there right?

Gotta most likely fold here unless you did have a read on him (which u didnt). he is playing this like AK or QQ and both have u smashed. Those are the two most likely but at this level he could be playing other trash that hit the flop/turn and has u beat or playing AQ/AJ.

If you were the last to show aggression preflop you really should be the aggressor on the with pretty much any made hand, especially in a heads-up pot. By checking the flop here you have basically told villain "I can't beat a pair of aces". Lead the flop for about $8, fold if raised and be cautious if called.
