Villain was 30/20/3 over about 100 hands. After he calls the flop, KK, AQ, QQ are all real possibilities with some smaller possibility he's floating with a medium PP given only 1 overcard. I decided to play the turn like a whiffed AK -- c-bet flop and check turn -- and hoped to induce a bet from villain with one of those hands that I beat. It seemed like there were very few cards that could come that I'm afraid of on the river if he checks through. Thoughts on this plan?

check? you may as well continue your line. you are either way ahead or way behind if he hit a set and is trying to check raise you. I think there is a good chance he has air and your only hope for extracting more money is to get him to bluff again. A guy with his stats usually keeps betting if he hit w/ AQ or KQ IMO.

I kind of like this. I probably wouldn't do it (I'm actually a little afraid of pulling anything fancy out of the bag), but I do like the play. I would like it more if the 6 were a diamond instead of a heart.

You don't have a pot sized bet left, I would just shove the turn. AQ and KQ will call that anyway if they called the flop but will check behind the turn.

You are going broke to a set either way.

I bet less on flop (difference in style). I like it if he's been seeing you do this often, tho not huge on a check raise all in on turn.

Another option is to half pot the turn, then shove river. Hard for him not to call the river after he calls ANY turn bet....

Great spot to try this, IMO.

this play is good...your typically checking the turn with AK in this spot, and when he tries to bluff/whatever, just c/r AI.
