You have two bonii:

Bonus 1: Deposit $50, get $75 after wagering $3125.
Bonus 2: Deposit $50, play with $125, bonus can be withdrawn after wagering $3125.

Instinctively it feels like there should be a difference in ev between these bonuses, but how big is that is difference? Would the ev of bonus 1 increase or stay the same if you deposit $100 instead?

Bonus 1 has the exact ev of 75 - 3125 * HA, and the variance is bad for you since you will have to redeposit. It is still better to play it with large bets for hourly rate purposes. Bonus 2 ev depends on how big your bet is. The HA is effectively reduced due to your odds of busting out and not having to complete the WR. Variance is good here because it raises both your EV and your hourly rate. Deposit amount is irrelevant in bonus 1.

I shouldn't work as an engineer because I don't know what HA means, yeah that makes perfect sense.

Edit: Hm, the only thing that makes sense is Hand Advantage /images/graemlins/laugh.gif Thanks for a good reply dzbonus /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Some further advice...

3125/75 = 41.66

100/41.66 = 2.40

Therefore you have to play games with a HA of less than 2.4% in order to have a expectation of profit from this bonu if it is scenario one.

This effectively only really gives you ...

Blackjack (and variants e,g, Pontoon)
Video Poker

Baccarat, Craps and European Roulette (on the evens chances) would also fit within this mark, but typically these are banned from most bonuses ... or the WR is much higher)

However, if it is scenario two, and if you have the option of forfeiting the bonus if you cash out (e.g. most Micrograming casinos) then you have the option of the BIG BET where you leverage the bonus to make money!

So you have depsoited $50, but have $125 to play with

Bet the whole lot on the Banker in Baccarat ... if that wins you will now have around $245

Now bet the whole lot on the banker again ... if it wins you now have around $480

Sacrifice the bonus and withdraw $405 ... a profit of $365 for five minutes work!!!

Alternatively (and only if you can extract +EV by playing the games mentioned in scenario one), you can attack the WR with a much lower chance of busting out.
