View Full Version : 25NL flopped top set OOP vs. LAG villain

My notes on villain are that he's laggier than his skill level warrants post-flop. Overvalues TPTK, raises and 3bets OOP preflop with marginal hands. I'm 80% sure my TT is best preflop. I think my flop push may have cost me some value. Should I have bet smaller, or CRed the flop?

It cost you a ton of value, 1/2 of that bet would have been fine, less if you think he'll raise light.

A smaller bet will allow him to raise any draw he might have vs. the strongest part of your range. This big a bet prevents him from making that mistake.

Say that we make a small bet and end up getting called. What's our line on the turn? What if a club, Q or 7 comes? We have around $10-12 left. Are we folding to a bet?

I like this method of thinking. It is a great way to think about the Fundamental Theorem. Nice.

No, do you see why?
